The difficulty in assuming a simple representation instead of a complex one - or even a complicated representation is as learning.
A flat, simple and even complicated representation can not be learned, but rather only memorized.
Hence if you assume simple and 'learn' it, memorize it,
1. you will not be able to generalize
2. there is no hierarchy, no semantics can develop
Also there is no creativity due to (1) & (2)
If I assume that HaTov VeHamtiv, then I don't learn from the experience, I can change my reaction/behavior but that is not learning.
How do I communicate the experience, if I say 'Tov' very simple. Religion gets watered down to good/bad instead of a learning experience
